    Solid as the earth herself,  the hilltop Château d’Alogny stands guard over the world below, as it has done for almost a thousand years.  The quiet hamlet of Alogny, nestling in castle's shadow, looks out across a patchwork of fields and farms on the rolling hills and down to the wide valley of the Creuse river.   Age-old footpaths fan out through the adjacent fields and forest, connecting to nearby villages.

       A welcoming warmth radiates through the castle from the great stone walls, and guests are grounded with a sense of security that feels timeless. Chateau d’Alogny is a world unto itself, a haven from another time. The perfect place to share a common purpose, build community or simply take a well deserved break.

     The communal layout lends itself well to shared living arrangements,  while still providing plenty of private places for personal space.  Accommodations include five spacious bedrooms with writing tables.   The four bathrooms include 3 showers, a Jacuzzi tub, 4 toilets and bidet. 

       The Great Room features a massive fireplace that smolders day and night in cold weather, and also includes a large dining table for twelve and an adjacent well-equipped modern kitchen.  In the big family room is another table seating eight, together with with digital satellite television, VCR & DVD, and a computer with broadband Internet access.   Additional twin beds provide further overflow accommodation, and the room is large enough to provide space for yoga.

     Cascading gardens frame the large swimming pool with its flagstoned sundeck, which perches on the edge of the hill and enjoys spectacular views across the valley. The circular North Terrace is framed with flowers and herbs, and is a favorite spot for al fresco dining.

    In the gardens, nestling amongst the flowering shrubs and bushes, are hidden arbors with stone seats and benches, which provide private places  for reading and contemplation.

    Whether your group desires simply a self-catered facility rental with complete independence, or prefers the full gamut of catering and services, Château d’Alogny can custom fit your specific needs and budget.
